In many organizations, approval levels such as A, B, C… may not clearly represent the actual roles involved in the signing process. Customers often prefer signer levels to reflect real internal responsibilities like Finance, Legal, or CEO.
RIVO allows organizations to customize signer-level names so that approval workflows are easier to understand and aligned with internal structures.
Using Custom Signer Labels
RIVO supports signer levels from A to Z, enabling organizations to define up to 26 approval levels.
Organizations can assign meaningful names to signer levels, such as:
Finance Lead
VP Legal
CEO
These custom labels will appear across the signing and approval process instead of only alphabetical levels.
Where to Configure Signer Labels
Organization administrators can manage signer labels by navigating to:
My Rules → Signer Labels
In this section, all signer levels (A–Z) are listed, and each level can be given a custom name.
Showing System Letters or Custom Labels
A toggle is available in the Signer Labels tab:
Show system labels
This controls how signer levels are displayed throughout RIVO.
When turned OFF
Signer levels display as:
A, B, C…
When turned ON
Signer levels display using the organization’s custom names (if defined), for example:
Finance Lead, CEO, VP Legal
If no custom name is entered for a level, the system letter will appear by default.
Where Custom Labels Appear
Once configured, signer labels will be visible in all relevant customer workflows, including:
Organization Structure (Add/Edit User signer levels)
Approval Rule Details
Review & Sign process
Deal History
This ensures consistent role-based visibility throughout the signing lifecycle.
Updating or Removing Labels
Labels can be updated at any time.
If a label is removed or left empty, RIVO will automatically revert that level back to its default letter (A, B, C…).
