After a claim request is received under SBLC for payment, bank will register that claim request in RIVO on behalf of the beneficiary. And when the claim does not comply with the terms and conditions of the standby LC, then the bank have every right to reject the claim stating the valid reason to the beneficiary.
In RIVO, the received claim (Partial/Full amount) can be rejected by the banks for several reasons.
To reject a claim under SBLC, go to the Landing page (Standby LC transaction with Status: Claim-Received) and click on the Reject option from the actions drop-down.
A Reject Reason text input box will be displayed and will require you to provide the reason for rejecting the standby LC,
Fill the rejection reason and click on the Reject button. The reason for rejection will be displayed when click on the info icon next to the status of the transaction.
