Purpose
RIVO allows Corporate users to create and manage syndication agreements involving multiple participating banks. Users can define the lead bank, participating banks, risk-sharing percentages, fronting limits, and agreement validity.
This article explains how to configure and maintain syndication agreements in RIVO.
Audience
Corporate administrators are responsible for managing banks, credit limits, and syndication agreements.
1. Accessing Syndication Management
Navigate to My Banks → Syndication Management.
The Syndication Overview page displays the configured agreements, including their reference, participating banks, agreement amount, validity, and status.
Users can create new agreements and view or maintain existing agreements.
2. Creating a Syndication Agreement
Click Add New to create a syndication agreement.
Complete the following details:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Syndication ID | Unique reference identifying the agreement. |
| Bank | Lead bank selected from My Banks. |
| Organization Unit | Organization unit associated with the selected bank. |
| Product | Applicable product, currently Outgoing Guarantee. |
| Syndication Amount | Total amount covered by the agreement. |
| Start Date / Expiry Date | Validity period of the agreement. |
| Description | Additional information about the agreement. |
The agreement amount must remain within the applicable available limit, and the agreement expiry date must not exceed the underlying limit expiry date.
3. Configuring Participating Banks
Banks participating in the syndication must be configured under My Banks before they can be selected.
Each bank is assigned one of the following roles:
| Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Lead & Fronting | Lead bank that can also issue guarantees. |
| Participant & Fronting | Participating bank that shares risk and can issue guarantees. |
| Participant | Bank that shares risk without acting as the fronting bank. |
The first selected bank is automatically assigned the Lead & Fronting role. Only one Lead & Fronting bank is permitted per agreement.
For each participating bank, users can configure:
- Syndicated Limit Reference
- Risk Percentage
- Risk Amount
- Fronting Limit, where applicable
- Participation Start and Expiry Dates
The total risk allocation across all participating banks must equal 100%.
4. Risk Allocation and Fronting Limits
The Risk Percentage determines each participating bank's agreed share of the syndicated facility.
The Fronting Limit defines the capacity available to a bank acting as a fronting institution.
RIVO calculates the corresponding risk amount based on the configured percentage and syndication amount.
A fronting limit is required for banks with the Lead & Fronting or Participant & Fronting role. Banks configured only as Participants do not require a fronting limit.
5. Viewing and Maintaining Agreements
The Syndication Management page allows users to view the details and status of configured agreements.
Depending on the agreement status and usage, users can perform available maintenance actions, including editing relevant information, disabling an agreement, or deleting an unused agreement.
Disabled or expired agreements are not available for new syndicated guarantee issuance.
6. Audit Trail
RIVO records syndication agreement maintenance activities in the Audit Trail.
The audit log captures actions such as:
- Add Rule – New syndication agreement created.
- Edit Rule – Existing agreement information modified.
- Delete Rule – Agreement deleted.
- Disable Rule – Agreement disabled.
The audit information provides visibility into changes made to the agreement, including relevant participant details and modified values.
For transaction processing and reporting, refer to [Syndicated Guarantees].
